Complete oversight in all aspects of the financial and administrative activities of the Center
Accurate, timely reporting and forecasting to the Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees
Primary interface with most external service providers, bankers, auditors and government agencies
Work closely with the Center’s and senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans and goals that support its mission and vision
Coordinate the hiring process, focusing efforts to ensure diversity of job candidates, while continually strengthening the skills and perspective of our team members, making the National Humanities Center an organization that lives its inclusion values
In coordination with the President & Director, manage the annual employee benefits renewal process and performance review process.
Manage the maintenance of the physical facilities and related third party vendors: landlord, parking, janitorial and maintenance, etc.
Actively promote a positive and team building environment within the Center. Collegial, reflective, and respectful – imbued with a sense of fun and camaraderie.
Qualifications
Proven track record of successful financial management, incumbent with the expected duties and responsibilities of a proven CFO. CPA and/or MBA preferred.
10 - 15 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, preferable with experience in nonprofit, governmental and/or academic organizations
Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with a passion for learning new and exploring new ideas and concepts
Ability to assist in nonstrenuous tasks within the center, including lifting and pushing, contributing to the overall maintenance of the Center
