Assistant Retail Manager

As the Assistant Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing our Council's retail operation, driving sales, and maintaining impeccable customer satisfaction. From managing inventory to executing marketing strategies, you'll play a crucial role in promoting the Girl Scout brand and supporting our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement: Engage with walk-in customers and process phone, fax, and mail orders with enthusiasm. Demonstrate product usage to ensure customer understanding and satisfaction. Build lasting relationships with clientele to drive sales.
Retail Efficiency: Manage retail shops to meet sales targets through effective merchandising techniques. Maintain optimal stock levels by conducting regular inventories and ensuring seasonal demands are met.
Service Excellence: Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers, embodying the positive image of Girl Scouting. Keep store and stockroom orderly and adhere to merchandising standards.
Marketing Initiatives: Assist in developing and executing special marketing strategies to boost sales, including participation in events. Process web orders efficiently and handle back orders promptly.
Inventory Management: Conduct monthly cycle counts and assist in annual physical inventory preparation and execution. Ensure accurate tracking of merchandise.
Team Collaboration: Support affirmative action plans and diversity initiatives within the organization. Assist in achieving fund development and membership goals.

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
1-year experience in retail, related merchandising, or a related field.
Knowledge of purchasing and ability to forecast product sales, conduct costs analyses, and manage the day-to-day shop and product operations.
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a team setting environment.
Must be able to work weekends as needed.
A valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel throughout our council jurisdiction.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee frequently communicates with customers and moves about inside of the retail shop to assist customers and stock items. Must be able to remain in a stationary position and frequently operate office equipment.

The employee frequently moves up to 30 pounds. It is essential the employee be able to detect, identify, recognize and assess many different situations that may occur within the retail shop at any given time.
