Foundations of Digital Inclusion

Your organization’s equity work is incomplete without a plan for digital inclusion. Understanding the three tenets of digital inclusion – access to broadband, access to devices, and digital literacy – is paramount in the efforts to close the digital divide and ensure our communities can fully participate in society. Therefore, it’s crucial for practitioners to understand recent and pending legislation and how programs should evolve to meet the ever-changing digital inclusion landscape.

In this course, you will learn how the three tenets of the digital inclusion model uniquely impact the success of a more digitally equitable society. We’ll discuss the current digital inclusion landscape, looking at some of the advances and the remaining challenges. Participants will practice the skills necessary to interpret relevant data and trends while garnering resources to assist with advocacy and digital equity decision-making in your community. The course will include opportunities for participants to discuss their work and experiences.

This course includes: 30 minutes of prework; 90 minute live or recorded class; 30 minutes of homework; certification. Credits available for: NTEN professional certificate, Certified Fund Raising Executive, and Certified Association Executive.
