Accidental Techie: Hardware Infrastructure Basics

Not everyone who supports technology is a techie. And yet, maybe you’ve found yourself in charge of your organization’s systems and infrastructure because you've shown some aptitude for it. By innocuously fixing a printer jam or formatting an Excel spreadsheet, you were recruited; you were volunteered; you’re what we call an “Accidental Techie.” The good news is, you're not the only accidental techie in the nonprofit sector, and you don't have to go it alone.

Computers, printers, phones, routers – there are a lot of gadgets that can turn glitchy. During this webinar, you'll learn the basics about the hardware in a typical office and review common troubleshooting techniques to keep them up and running. You’ll also learn what you need to know to network computers, keep them connected, and reliably back up files.

This is the first webinar in the 3-part series, Accidental Techie: How to Support Your Nonprofit Without an IT Background, focused on hardware infrastructure basics, managing software and security, and the human side of technology.
