Public Policy Specialist

NAMI NC’s Public Policy Specialist is responsible for advocating at (primarily, but not limited to) the state level on public policies necessary to improve the quality of life of adults, children and families affected by mental illness. The Public Policy Specialist’s focus will be on the state budget and legislation, as well as rules and regulations. The position is also responsible for advancing the use of Psychiatric Advance Directives (PADS) throughout the state and for advancing Diversity/Equity/Inclusion (DEI) within NAMI NC and through policy advocacy.

Advocacy Coordinator

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, detail-oriented, and has strong writing, research, and multitasking skills. The Advocacy Coordinator is a full-time position based in Raleigh, NC, with the possibility of working remotely up to two days per week. This position plays a key role in the success of the Governmental Relations (GR) team.
