One of the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits’ core values is to respect and include the wide variety of North Carolina’s people, cultures, regions, religions, and political views. To live this value, we've launched Walking the Talk: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in North Carolina Nonprofits, a new initiative to help nonprofits address the sector’s racial leadership gap, generational leadership gap, and policies, practices, and organizational cultures in nonprofits that exacerbate these gaps.
View this recorded webinar with presenters Anita Brown-Graham, ncIMPACT at UNC School of Government; Ivan Canada, NCCJ of the Piedmont Triad; and Jeanne Tedrow, North Carolina Center for Nonprofits. They shared goals of the initiative, discuss distinctions between the terms, analyze NC demographic data around race, age, and needs related to equity and inclusion, and answered questions.
