Description:

Project Access of Durham County (PADC), a non-profit organization, provides access to donated specialty medical care and services for uninsured and underinsured residents of Durham County.  Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP), a service of PADC, collects, cleans, and make minor repairs to durable medical equipment (DME) and loans out to Durham County residents in need.  HELP is open two days/week – Tuesdays 11 am-3 pm and Fridays 2-6 pm at The Scrap Exchange.  Visit our website: www.projectaccessdurham.org/HELP/

The program manager is responsible for implementing and supervising the day-to-day program operations: recruitment and supervision of volunteer staff, intake of requests and equipment, dispensing equipment to users, return of equipment, managing deposits, and data entry. The manager will ensure safety of the facility space, provide for adequate volunteer coverage, and oversee safe sanitization and repair of equipment.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Recruit, screen, train, schedule, supervise and support volunteer staff for DME loan program.
2. Oversee intake of used DME, safe sanitization and repair, and dispensation of DME to clients.
3. Establish and maintain system for inventory control; keep records of loans and returns.
4. Prepare monthly and annual reports on program outcomes for board and funders.
5. Complete other tasks, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience). Strong customer service orientation and ability to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences and across different settings.  Experience in health care services and/or customer service. Strong initiative and flexibility in identifying and solving problems, and good organizational skills.  Ability to manage work independently and to work cooperatively.  Experience as volunteer or working with volunteers.  Proficiency in MS Office. 

Position: 15-20 hours/week, pro-rated time off, not benefits eligible, hourly rate DOE
