Are you an experienced leader with a passion for creating impactful programs that empower and inspire girls? We're seeking a dynamic Program Director to join our team and make a difference in the lives of girls across our 41 counties. The Program Director creates Girl Scout programs that meet the changing needs of the members of the Council, focusing on programs that will result in membership retention. The Director ensures the implementation of the council strategy with a focus on the consistent leadership development experience for our members. This position can be based in Raleigh, Fayetteville, or Cape Carteret.

Day in the Life:

Plan, develop, administer, and evaluate new and existing programs tailored to meet the needs of our Girl Scout members, focusing on areas such as STEM, leadership, and healthy living.
Serve as the go-to expert for troop leaders, offering support and guidance to ensure the successful delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).
Lead and direct staff and volunteers in the planning and execution of events, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Represent the Girl Scout Council in forging partnerships with community agencies to enhance program opportunities and outcomes.
Ensure accessibility of the GSLE to all girl members throughout our region, promoting inclusivity and diversity.
Develop marketing strategies to drive participation in events and program initiatives within and outside the Girl Scout community.
Implement robust risk management protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of participants in compliance with GSUSA and regulatory standards.
Oversee budgeting and financial management for program operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and accountability.
Establish an evaluation system to measure the impact of programming, making data-driven decisions to enhance our offerings continually.

Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in recreation or related areas or documented experience in recreational program planning and implementation is preferred.
A minimum of three (3) years experience as a Program Director or equivalent experience.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
Experience in designing, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating programs.
Experience in a position working with and supporting children and adult volunteers.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Ability to analyze and interpret general written material and instructions.
Must be able to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to travel within the council footprint (within 41 counties in NC)
Previous supervisory and training experience preferred.
