Job purpose  The NourishNC (NNC) Program Director is a full-time position that directs and coordinates all program activities in a fast-paced environment. The Program Director builds relationships with and is the direct liaison between school social workers, clients, community partners, and volunteers. The Program Director also markets NNC and its mission, cultivates donors, and carries out duties associated with general office administration.

This position requires superior organization skills, excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, discretion, and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Duties and responsibilities
• Work Closely with School Social Workers (SW) to:
o Implement program goals and to add/remove students from program
o Maintain client database with up-to-date and accurate information
o Distribute/collect/input all program forms and evaluations
o Coordinate weekly distribution of bags and coordinate delivery/pick up of boxes
o Constantly improve program services and build relationships with SW’s
o Maintain up-to-date Site manual for SW’s

• Strategically Market NNC and its Mission by:
o Serving as a community outreach ambassador to NNC by attending community events, speaking/tabling on behalf of NNC, and facilitating fundraising events
o Maintaining up-to-date website and event calendar
o Maintaining up-to-date volunteer calendar/Sign up Genius
o Writing monthly newsletter & weekly website blog posts
o Creating/designing engaging content
o Engaging followers and acquiring new ones on social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook)
o Write and post press releases (with ED)

• Identify, Cultivate, and Recognize Funding Sources:
o Draft grant applications
o Maintain up-to-date donor/grant database

o Follow through with all required grant reporting
o Thank you notes/receipts for all donations
• Build and Maintain Strong Relationships with Partners by:
o Remain in constant communication with community partners to ensure program goals are being met (with ED)
o Meet quarterly with community partners to establish and assist with needs, collect program reports (with ED)
o Maintain up-to-date partner manual for community partners
o Place NNC (and partners) bulk orders through FB/FL quarterly

• Daily Program Administration
o Create monthly packing schedule
o Serve on Program Committee
o Manage and engage volunteers
o Develop educational materials, rotating menus, recipes and other “extras”
o Recruit, manage and schedule volunteers (packing, delivery, events, etc)
o Monitor school schedules for possible changes in program services
o Manage food inventory database/projections
o General office/administrative duties
o Maintain up-to-date master calendar
o Coordinate and oversee all direct/mass mailings and contacts
o Prepare BOD, volunteer or employee documents
o Light cleaning
o Assist in warehouse as needed
o All other duties deemed necessary for the function of NourishNC by ED

• Microsoft Office (must be proficient in Excel/Google Sheets) and Google Drive
• Social media platforms
• Wordpress
• Graphic design software (Canva, GIMP, Photoshop)
• Office administration
• Issues surrounding childhood hunger

• Administer programs and initiatives
• Solve problems and make decisions using sound analysis
• Effectively communicate orally and in writing
• Negotiate and mediate conflict with a focus on “win-win” agreements

• Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking
• The Program Director will have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching

• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 80 pounds
• Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust.

• Minimum 2 year degree. 4 year degree preferred.
• Experience in office/program administration
• Experience in nonprofit sector preferred

• Valid North Carolina driver's license
