Duke Energy Nonprofit Series: Building the Capacity to Lead

Duke Energy Nonprofit Series: Building the Capacity to Lead

Join the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits, your local Chamber of Commerce, and Duke Energy in your community

Strong nonprofits have a diverse team of leaders – staff and board – who embrace the mission and clearly understand their goals and responsibilities. Based on the Center’s updated guide, Principles & Practices: Best Practices for North Carolina Nonprofits, these interactive workshops offer both new and experienced nonprofit leaders an exploration of twelve core management principles for nonprofits to improve and strengthen their organizations. Principles include:

  • Advocacy and civic engagement
  • Board governance
  • Equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Financial management
  • Fundraising
  • Human resources
  • Information and technology
  • Legal compliance and transparency
  • Partnerships and collaboration
  • Program design, management, and evaluation
  • Strategic communication
  • Strategic planning

Participants receive a copy of Principles & Practices.
