Basics of Equitable Program Design

Has an existing program at your organization not accounted for the changing demographics of your service area? Are you aware of the unintended consequences for your organization when a service or resource intended to provide a benefit to individuals or communities has been deemed “inequitable” by the people you’re trying to serve? Nonprofits are sometimes challenged by understanding the delicate balance of intent versus impact in the creation and delivery of programs and services.

In this online course, you’ll be introduced to concepts of equity-focused community design that are integral to implementing inclusive programs into your communities. You’ll also learn skills that are essential to developing authentic engagement with your organization’s constituents during the design process. These elements of equitable program design are a critical factor in long-term systemic change and mission fulfillment.

This online course runs for one week, offering a mix of self-paced work and a 90-minute live event on Wednesday.
