Skills Labs are short, streamlined virtual pro bono sessions for Triangle-area nonprofits with professionals volunteering from one or more of Activate Good's Corporate Partners.
Activate Good moderates each interactive event, during which your team will pose questions to the volunteers matched with you beforehand. You’ll receive a consultation on the technical issues or questions you submitted in advance.
This Skills Lab will have a slight twist: nonprofits and community organizations that engage adults seeking services or support related to reentering the workforce, securing employment, and professional development or adult education will have the opportunity to discuss challenges that their clients face in their job hunt, including but not limited to: how to make resumes and cover letters that stand out in today’s market, turning adversity into an asset for the job, interview techniques, and more. In return, professionals volunteering their insight will cover related tips for the job search, and discuss what could help someone land a job at a company like their own.
