Description:

The Development & Events Specialist supports the Foundations’ development programs, including annual giving, special events and program awareness. Helps develop goals and strategies for fundraising events and special fundraising projects. S/he has primary responsibility for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the donor database. The Development & Events Specialist works proactively and effectively to steward donors. S/he provides direct support to the Director of Development and Communications.

•Under supervision of the Director of Development & Communications, responsible for data input integrity and outputs including: gift processing, conducting reconciliations, and creating all necessary queries and reports to analyze performance of various fundraising initiatives and ensure accuracy.
•Create and maintain constituent data using Raiser’s Edge, Luminate CMS, and Luminate Online. Responsible for timely and accurate recording of all contributions, donor contact information and other relevant information in the donor database.
•Provide logistical support for Canines & Cocktails, National Parent Club Canine Health Conference, and other events including responsibility for managing expenses to stay within budget, management of volunteers, and promoting the event.
•Produce standard and custom reports to facilitate analysis and decision-making for Director of Development and/or CEO.
•Produce acknowledgement letters, receipts, and tributes in a timely and accurate manner for all transactions in accordance with the Foundation’s stewardship policies.

Uses email and the Internet. Database experience a must. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Luminate/other Blackbaud products preferred. Experience with Photoshop, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher, or other basic graphic design software is a plus. Basic html coding knowledge is a plus.
