To promote and preserve the art and history of quilts through education of its members, and to inspire community involvement.
Ashford Institute will create interdisclipinary educational programs related to medicine, psychology and social work for special issues that cross boundaries of several disciplines, and that further specific goals United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education; Peace and Justice (which shall include, but not be limited to, the prevention of domestic violence, child abuse, human trafficking and the expansion of access to healthcare); Good Health and Well-being; Improving Nutrition and Ending Hunger; Eradicating Poverty. Special programs will be created for students of various levels to learn about these interdisclipinary topics in greater depth than is typically permitted by most educational institutions. Small sustainable research projects will be undertaken in support of these goals, and for learning purposes of students.
To organize fundraising activities to enhance the educational opportunities of adults with disabilities residing long-term at the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center.
