AFRICA DIGITAL POULTRY is a non-profit organization that seeks to solve hunger, poverty and illiteracy issues in the rural Sub-Saharan Africa regions through the development of community based sustainable poultry farming, while promoting digital education and basic literacy for mainly women and children.
Our goals are to assist local poultry farmers in the following areas:
Build Egg Incubators from Recycled Used Refrigerators powered by a hybrid electric, solar and / or wind energy system.
We will train the local artisans, preferably metal carpenters or welders, to make egg incubators from used refrigerators and make them available to rural women and youth groups that are already working in the field of village poultry farming.
This will alleviate poverty and also provide opportunities for rural youth to settle in their land and reduce rural exodus.
Using Raspberry Pi (a small computer board) to teach kids basic computer literacy, coding and experimentations about the Internet Of Things (IOT) .
We will also teach them how to use a Raspberry Pi to make a small Egg Incubator.
We will work with the villagers to allocate parts of the earnings from the chicken farms to support the sustainability of the Digital Literacy program.
Advancing Digital Education in Africa through poultry Farming.
