YES! is hiring 2 Program Coordinators in Raleigh and 1 Program Manager in Asheville!

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE: To promote youth empowerment as a means for advocacy and community change by supervising a youth staff team and providing youth and adult leader trainings and technical assistance. This team of youth and adults will focus on youth empowerment for policy change in the areas of Youth Tobacco Prevention, Access to Oral Health and Food Justice.

• Recruit, hire, train and supervise a youth staff team of 4-5 high school students
• Plan, coordinate and implement youth/adult leader trainings
• Provide support for YES! trainings and technical assistance within various topic areas and youth empowerment
• Support the leadership development of YES! youth staff through the application of the YES! Youth Empowerment Model®, training, experiential learning and local advocacy opportunities
• Support the YES! Youth Staff to develop print, earned and social media materials to enhance local and statewide advocacy initiatives
• Complete initiative, organizational and grant-funded verification and outcomes protocol
• Participate in YES! organizational committees (outcomes, wellness, equity) or special project teams as needed
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with organizations to achieve mutual outcomes and promote YES! trainings and services
• Create and sustain partnerships with various funders
• Participate in individual fundraising appeals, year-end appeal and other
fundraising activities as needed
• Participate in regional and statewide meetings, trainings and conference calls
• Research and attend professional development opportunities
• Willingness and ability to spend time meeting over the phone or via video conference and to travel up to 30% of time
• Work evenings and weekends, as needed
• Complete other duties, as designated by Supervisor

• Computer/internet experience and willingness to utilize technology to enhance
effectiveness of virtual offices
• Proven ability and willingness to network - building new and maintaining networks/relationships locally, regionally and nationally
• Successful past public speaking experience, event planning and facilitation

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, public policy or related field, or equivalent
experience working with youth, planning and facilitating events, networking
community organizing and advocacy
• Experience working with youth, planning and facilitating events, networking,
community organizing and advocacy
