Our story begins in Mexico, where I labored for 25 years as a missionary pastor and educator. As a printer by trade, I drove to Mexico City in 1993 to begin our ministry there. In the back of my Chevrolet pickup truck was a small A.B. Dick press which had been donated for the purpose of printing literature. Beginning our first year, before I could even speak conversational Spanish, I was printing thousands of books and pamphlets, which would later become the core publications of our nonprofit publishing house, Publicaciones Faro de Gracia. (Beacon of Grace Publications)
Within 5 years in Mexico, the distribution had grown to a point where it was necessary to open a warehouse and office in Burlington, NC which would allow us to provide for the greater demand of our literature outside of Mexico. Burlington is familiar to me as I grew up and learned the printing business here. So in July of 1998, Publicaciones Faro de Gracia was incorporated as a nonprofit in North Carolina, and began shipping books to the Hispanic communities of the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as the 19 Hispanic countries and Spain.
Publicaciones Faro de Gracia has now become the leading publisher and distributor of reformed, Spanish resources with distribution throughout all the Spanish-speaking communities and countries of the world, including Equatorial Guiana of Africa. In July of 2014, we moved into a new warehouse in Burlington, NC, which hosts our office, distribution center and maintains over 2000 different titles. Our donors and volunteers include individuals from many of the Hispanic countries, as well as Hispanics in the US. For the past five years, we have seen an average growth of 23% in distribution every year, in spite of the economic conditions of the world. It is our great privilege to serve the Hispanic community and our Lord Jesus Christ.
