The Executive Director will be responsible for providing direction and leadership to all areas of the Shalom Project toward the achievement of its mission and vision. As TSP launches into community development with the Peter’s Creek Community Initiative, the ED will provide executive support and oversight for this project. The ED will also oversee all TSP existing programs, supervision of staff and volunteers at our Medical Clinic, The Welcome Table (community supper), Food Pantry, Circles WS Program(circles.usa.org), Clothing Closet.

The Shalom Project, a 501(c)3 non-profit in the West Salem neighborhood of Winston Salem, seeks an Executive Director to lead us in continuing our mission to know the needs of the West Salem community, and creatively and compassionately meet them with programming, education, and advocacy for sustainable and vibrant living.

The Executive Director will also maintain fiscal responsibilities such as overseeing all bookkeeping functions, timely financial reporting and manage all financial resources within budget guidelines. The Executive Director will be responsible for actively building strong relationships with community leaders and board members. The
Executive Director will work in conjunction with board members to manage the strategic direction of the Shalom Project as well as recruit, train and manage volunteers. The Executive Director is responsible for all development including fundraising planning and implementation , researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, grant writing, executing effective fundraisers, and maintaining stewardship with funders.
The ideal candidate for this position must possess a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s level preferred, with five years of experience in non-profit work and proven fundraising experience. Candidates must be comfortable and committed to working with marginalized members of our community, have an ability to build and maintain strong relationships, be able to facilitate effective communication and work efficiently with a Board of Directors. Familiarity with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County community and area resources is desirable.

This is a full time salaried position with benefits. Applicants must consent to a public and financial record check, and pass a pre-employment drug test.  Salary range: $45,000-55,000 commensurate with experience.
