 Speaking Engagements/meet with community representatives
 Build rapport with/solicit financial and volunteer support from churches/civic clubs
 Arrange for visibility at public community functions (eg. Music @ Twilight)

 Create quarterly newsletters/email blasts
 Design ads, media releases, publicize events for The Shepherd’s Center, making sure they reflect what The Center wishes to express, with Executive Director approval

 Donor Retention/New Donors – strategy to keep involved/attract new, cultivation/recognition, inviting to donate at next level, identify who could be financial leads in major projects
 Grant seeking/writing/reporting
 Fundraising Events - work with Board Committee, develop sponsor listings, solicit sponsors, develop programs/sponsor ads/PowerPoint, provide minutes of meetings, generate accounting of event for the following:  Auction Gala, Golf Tournament, Annual Giving Campaign, A Night of Talent, GivingTuesday, and Year End Giving Campaign
 In future Capital Campaign, make preparations and assist the Board of Directors

 Promote various ways gifting can be done
 Maintain policies and guidelines for gift acceptance as developed by the Planned Giving Committee, bring any gift requiring an approval to the Planned Giving Committee
 Review gifting guidelines to ensure a gift will not be accepted which will result in a financial drain on The Shepherd’s Center of Kernersville…review with Executive Director

Board of Directors
Provide minutes of Finance Committee
Prepare report for meetings - events coming up/event accounting, program and volunteer statistics, and share a story
Continuing Education
Actively stay abreast of changing trends in solicitation, planned-giving, grant writing, needs of donors, and marketing through attendance of seminars, researching, reading, and interaction with other development professionals
Maintain an active membership in the Triad Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals

Minimum of bachelor’s degree in fundraising, public administration, business, or human services
Skills in fundraising, communication, and interpersonal relationships
Ability to generate creative designs for marketing materials, write clearly and informatively, and edit work
Proficient in Microsoft and other fundraising software

The Director of Development will also be required to perform any other related duties, as required by the Executive Director, to ensure the ministry achieves the purposes outlined in The Shepherd’s Center of Kernersville Mission Statement.

This is a fulltime exempt position.
