North Carolina Employee Ownership Center, Inc. (“NCEOC”) is an educational nonprofit corporation that is dedicated to protecting jobs, increasing community wealth, and creating a more vibrant, inclusive economy. We view employee ownership as a critical tool to achieve these goals. By educating the public on employee ownership, we hope to stimulate economic development in a way that broadens economic opportunity, to the benefit of traditionally disadvantaged groups.
NCEOC will primarily act as an educational organization, the purpose of which is to provide citizens of North Carolina a better understanding of the values, opportunities, and particulars of employee ownership.
NCEOC will provide instruction and training on the values, opportunities, and particulars of employee ownership to business leaders, lawyers, accountants, wealth advisors, bankers, public officials, employees, members of the media, and other persons and organizations in North Carolina. NCEOC will have a particular focus on outreach to African American, Hispanic, and other minority or economically marginalized business communities.
NCEOC’s activities will at all times be directed to promoting employee ownership in North Carolina as a tool to protect jobs, increase community wealth, and create a more vibrant, inclusive economy.

The North Carolina Foundation for Public School Children is the education lifeline and safety net that offers hope, dignity, and opportunity to our state's most underserved public school students by providing for needs that local, state, and federal governments do not. Working directly through public school personnel, our mission is carried out through the Children's Fund, the Disaster Relief Fund, and the NC Teacher Cadet Program.
Our purpose is to advance the public’s awareness, education, understanding and appreciation of nature, wildlife and the natural environment by engaging in outdoor recreational activities including walking, hiking, bicycling and water sports in the North and South Toe River basins, Ivy Creek and the North Carolina portion of the Nolichucky River in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
The Association is engaged with our community leading hikes, maintaining and building trails, cleaning over-looks and scenic by-ways and working to improve the quality of our outdoor recreation assets. We are partners with the Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest (Appalachian Ranger District), Mount Mitchell State Park, Carolina Mountain Club, Appalachian Trail Conservancy and Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.
